Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.” - Conrad Hilton Sales success is about taking action! Selling skills are great but without action selling skills are worthless. Better to win a small percentage of a large number of deals than to have fantastic selling skills and no deals to speak of. Its easier to steer a car once it is in motion. Activity in sales means that it is easier to get better quicker. Its learning whilst you are earning. Activity requires motivation. Its your motive for action. But motivation is not enough. You also have to face your fears too. Its like a runner carrying a rucksack full of heavy rocks on her back. She has lots of energy but the weight on her back slows her down. Successful sales people are action-oriented. They work very hard, they are determined, and they are focused. They do not settle for mediocrity. If you want to increase your sales, before you think about increasing your selling skills, increase your motivation and action first.
